Wow

Talk about the power of the Internet.

Today according to a post on Facebook’s offical blog, CEO Mark Zuckerberg, wrote that Facebook will welcome their 200 millionth active user some time today.

One site, 200 million users.

It took the United States some 200 years to get the same number of people it took Facebook to reach in just a few.

Started in just 2004, well after most of us registered our first domain, Facebook has gone from 1 user to 200,000,000.

Think that’s impressive?

Consider the  fact that Facebook hit 100 million users, just 8 months ago, in August 2008.

That’s right.  In just the last 8 months Facebook has gone from 100 million users to 200 million users.

Wow.

How about the fact that Facebook added 50 million users so far in 2009.

Wow.

How about the fact that Facebook is adding 500,000 people per day.

500,000 new users every day.

Unbelievable.

Inconceivable just a short time ago.

The power of the Internet.

There has been nothing like it in the history of the world.

And we are all a small part of it.
