13 Mar 2010I currently monetize my sites using affiliate programs like ClickBank, Commission Junction, Amazon, Azoogle Ads and Google Adsense. In 2009 I began my big shift away from PPC and into affiliate products and the results have been fantastic! However I always want to get as much money as I can back from my investments so I’m always looking for even better revenue-generating opportunities for my sites.
Lead Generation, for those who don’t know, is a very simple concept – you provide a sales/client lead to a business and in return they pay you a flat fee for the lead. Just think – if you get $.25/click through your current PPC program you would need 80 clicks to make $20 – with lead generation a single form submission could bring-in $25 or more! Of course I quickly learned that Lead Generation is really only useful in several specific areas. This makes sense since high-payout leads are in niches where the company buying the lead can make a considerable about of money from each client that comes onboard.

13 Mar 2010The domain GoVideo.com sold on Namejet.com today for $18,100.
The domain has an Alexa rank of under 2M and according to Compete gets between 1K-3K visitors a month.
The domain used to be owned by an electronics company that made dual VCR/VCR & DVD/VCR devices but that day pretty much came and went and today the domain name went for $18K.
Here are a couple of other interesting domain that went on NameJet.com in the last few days.

13 Mar 2010This was a very busy week for Missouri.me / Localtek. We had seminars in both Park Hills and Chamois, MO and had a great time meeting with members of the business leadership in Cuba, MO. I wanted to say thanks to all those who spent the time to listen to what it takes to succeed online today and how marketing is changing compared to years past.

13 Mar 2010It happens A LOT! A company is getting ready to launch a new product and spends a good deal of time researching the "name" of the product to be clear of trademarks, something flashy so it is remembered and relevant but then fails to purchase the exact match name of the product as a domain [...]

12 Mar 2010When do you think new TLDs will be available for registration?
Another ICANN meeting has wrapped up. Blows were dealt to many, but some progress was made. With EOI off the table, the focus is on settling the “overarching issues”. The intellectual property constituency, which didn’t show up to Nairobi, was perhaps the biggest winner.
New TLDs are going to happen. It’s a matter of when.
During Domainer Mardi Gras, I asked my panel when they thought new TLDs would actually be available. More specifically, when will be I be able to go to a domain name registrar and register a new domain name and start using it?

12 Mar 2010I realize that I’ve been silent for the last couple of weeks. Between Kilimanjaro and the kids’ Spring Breaks it has been a very busy time for me. I apologize for the lack of communication. Please don’t take it as a sign that little is happening from our camp.
My team has been hard at work [...]
